The affectionately known ‘boneshaker bench’ is going the distance,
It has served its purpose well but the there is a fine line between ‘old skool raw gym’ and just plain old broken shit!
Was putting together the new benches this morning in between clients
Nuts and bolts spanners and screwdrivers, loads of em.
I hate stuff like that!
I was hurrying because I knew Mark was on his way.
Mark, as well as a client of mine, which means he is shedding bodyfat at an awesome rate, obvs!
Is a friend, hugely successful business man, a builder, a confidante and advisor, as such when he sees me trying my hand at assembly and manual labour stuff he will more often than not tell me straight out,
“What the fuck you doin…???”
(it’s defo more a statement than a question)
Needless to say he caught me struggling my way through finicky bolts and using bike 3 in 1 lubricant to try and rush the job.
I get a job done and we get a really good Tough workout.
Sounds like there are no drawbacks, don’t it?
Needless to say it took hours to even scratch the surface.
I spent the next day sulking and regretting even starting the job.
Mark realising my angst pops along in his digger
Within literally minutes he had the job done,
Ordered the removal of the concrete and the delivery of the dolomite in a oner
(saving me loadsa doh on the 3-4 skips I would have needed, never mind the time it would’ve taken to lift it all)
Organised membrane, wacker plate, garden edged off, gravel…
Moral of that story was there was so much more to a gravel drive than me and Mike and our sledgehammers!
Mark made it look effortless even had Matteo controlling it at one bit…
Makes sense though doesn’t it, chico?
It’s his job, his area of speciality!!!
Kind of reminds me the weight loss enthusiasts at this time of year.
They are slogging their guts out with the wrong equipment
breaking their balls day after day,
and much like a sledgehammer to a drive, barely making a dent!
Then they regret even starting, and end up sulking for the rest of the year.
There is always a much easier and quicker way!
All you have to do is ask…
It’s MY job, MY area of speciality…
You know exactly what to do…
