Especially when every bugger else is screaming about extremes.
The early stages are spent redressing the fundamental basics of a balanced diet.
Too much of a good thing will make you fat and too little will stop you losing fat
(I will put together a blog post to explain this in more depth for those that want it)
For now though let’s keep this simple and for the sake of simplicity I’m going to take it
you already know, AND ACTUALLY DO, the basics…
Drink at least 2 litres of water per day, sleep at least 7-8 hours per night
and exercise somewhat regularly…

So do this:
WARNING: THERE IS NOTHING NEW HERE…
- Regular amount of protein every day. A good start is 3-4 normal portions 30g-50g (depending on your current size)
- Eat your Veg, and not just a token insult to your plate! It doesn’t have to be boring or boiled mush there are countless ways to flavour it up and there is no limit on these (with that and the protein you shouldn’t be hungry)
- Eat your Fats! BUT use them sparingly this is where calories start to fly as at 9cals per gram (compared to 4grams from carbs and protein) they pack a mean punch…
Do the above and stick to it and you will drop fat at a rate of knots
BUT sticking to it is the hard part!!!
The BEST diet (in my honest but accurate opinion) is THE ONE YOU CAN STICK TO!
So banning yourself from carbohydrates, eating nothing but dry chicken and broccoli or
hiding from your friends and family to avoid alcohol is not only UNNECESSARY, it’s UNSUSTAINABLE!
The body is a clever little sod and has a nasty habit of fighting back when you decide to rob it of it fuel source (FAT)
So dietary adherence comes down to the planning, remember when you start your next weight loss mission, REAL fat loss not only requires time, it requires BALANCE! This is true not only from a mental perspective but the fat loss pathways require all of the macronutrients (Protein, Carbs & Fat) to be present AND giving up your life whilst being an intolerable arse as you slog it out is tantamount to failure…
