Curtis is as slow as a tortoise…
That’s largely because he is a tortoise
On a drunken night at Coach Mike’s house me and the Mrs
somehow ended up adopting their 10 year old tortoise.
A very generous gift to our kids who absolutely love him.
But I think it’s me that loves him the most.
(think we bonded today as he took a dump on my trousers)
He’s now strutting around the lounge, like king of the hill,
laughing it up in the protection and comfort of his shell.
Got my overactive brain thinking about how some people
struggle with how they feel without their shell.
Hiding their problems in their protective layers of clothes
and never being able to take them off.
It should’t be the case that we bow down so often to what other people might
think and the very thought of shedding our shell is enough to make us avoid
The fix is really simple.
Stop focussing on how you look and start paying attention to the things that
make you feel good and do more of those.
If you like running then run,
if you like lifting weights then lift weights,
If you like 3 bottles of wine and a hangover then go for your life!
My point is there are certain things that you and I know should be part of our
daily routine and making yourself feel great should be #1.
Do more of what makes you feel good, the rest will follow…
