In 34 years I have never actually taken the time to appreciate Hadrian’s wall
or worse take the kids to see it, while they still think of me as cool Paps,
and I live just 2 minutes from it.
The Love Mobile is in the garage getting a little facelift and
for a couple of weeks I’ve been saying how I should stop wasting
so much diesel on small trips to and fro the gym and walk my ass their…
So today I did just that (easy when it’s not pissing it down)
and on route stopped take in a bit of history and read about Hadrian’s wall.
The coast to coast, 73 roman mile, fortified defence structure
that protected Roman Britain.
Got me to thinking of how much effort and time went into building it.
I wonder if they had had access to the Internet and cable TV
would they have complained about not having the time to get it done?
(Imagine the selfies of Roman soldiers posting their difficult day
What about squeezing in a quick wall building session between
episodes of Viking Virgins?
But they got it done!
With an intention and an action, daily effort and commitment to consistency
they built a wall we still can see 2000 years later…
Today the world is the fastest it has ever been and we have seemingly
less and less time to get anything that’s actually worthwhile done!
Yet we have intimate knowledge of everyone and their granny’s doings on Facebook,
and never miss a cringe session with Lord Sugar and the apprentice (back on this week).
Look, if you are serious about building a structure that looks strong and healthy
that will protect yourself from the invading comfort food, doughnuts,
pizza and booze, then it starts with an intention, like me intending to walk to work,
then an action like you clicking this link:
I will show you how simple and sustainable choices mean that even in your busy life
getting in the best shape you’ve ever been in doesn’t have to be a chore.
