“Look at the big red bus…” she shouted on a crowded stagecoach bus…
Let’s take the story back.
I am fortunate to know an absolute treasure of a lady
Inspirational diligent and hard working to the end.
Single mother of 5 children with a demanding, stressful and most of the time extremely upsetting job
She always had the power to ask about everyone else and cheer up their day
Anyways, as you can imagine having 5 fully grown nippers she was very accustomed to having a child with her.
So much so that one day whilst riding the bus into town she was shocked to realise she had no children with her as she belted out
“Look at the big red bus…”
You can imagine the looks, she was mortified!
She told me the story about 7 years ago to make me laugh and I have never forgotten it,
Got me laughing about it right now telling you guys…
(hey M if you reading this)
Anyways, the point of the story is to demonstrate how we have set reactions pre-programmed into our brain to react to certain stimulus
It is instilled through repetition
But it isn’t always the right time or place for said reaction
(ie. a crowded bus full of adults and no children to blame it on – I’m genuinely still chuckling)
These behaviours can be wired for good or for bad
You just gotta do the repetitions!
But you have to choose what kind of reps they are…
The Tough Lovers have made a choice to do positive reps
The Projects teach, re-enforce and support the fact that weight training has become a basic need
