Google is making me stupid.
Just last week I had a trip away to let’s call it a ‘business trip’ which included
general chit chat about business ideas and growth potential and of course a few shots of tequila.
On leaving we arranged a meeting for the following day in Costa at 9am
I switched off at this point as the directions were given to me thinking to myself
‘I’ll just google it and let the maps direct me’
Following morning arrives I google and blindly follow the directions to my 9am meeting.
Standing in the queue I notice Dan isn’t there so I text to see what he wants.
“You ain’t in the queue because there isn’t a queue, and I’m staring at the counter”
“You didn’t go to the one in town did you???”
So I shut down my phone and went the old fashioned route of asking real people who had been there before.
If I’d listened the night before instead of being a know it all prick, I’d have heard him say the costa was literally minutes from
my hotel at the end of the marina…
I ended up late and walking twice the distance all because I thought I knew better and that I could find it all out for myself
Reminded me of people trying to figure out this weight loss game.
Using good ol’ google to search for answers then blindly following the first link they click
and either ending up at the wrong place or the journey taking longer than it needs to.
Or they could just ask the people who know, people who have been there before and have directed 100’s of others to get to the right place
