Kind of like leaving your house with no idea where you are going
only to ask for directions hours later…
Needing to lose weight before asking for the best way to do it is just a story that so many people tell themselves.
It is actually a natural protection mechanism that is governed by the brain.
Fear of being judged by anyone is common place but especially being judged by a trainer.
‘How could they possibly know what it’s like’.
The mammalian part of your brain that longs for connection stops you from stepping in front of others for fear of being judged, it’s an inbuilt fear incase we are ostracised from the social group.
We need to be accepted!
Just like when you keep refreshing Facebook to see how many likes your post gets…
Yip everyone does it!
How do I know?
Because it’s inbuilt human behaviour!
In primal days being ostracised from the social group would’ve been a risk to life.
Hence, speaking in public is ranked as high as second biggest human fear! Only after death of a loved one.
But what is the cost of not getting the help you need?
How will you feel if you wake up half way through next year realising despite best efforts at your gym / bootcamp / pt sessions you are exactly the same as you are right now?
The truth is a trainer will be the BEST person you can go to for advice and ESPECIALLY advice free from judgement.
The likelihood is that they are in that very position of wanting to help others because of the their own experiences and struggles
Today I just wanted to let you know that no matter your level,
beginner or advanced trainee,
it is always ok!
No sorry I take that back it’s not just ok,
It is criminal & costly NOT to ask for direction and help…
