As the story goes
‘How do you know if someone in the room does CrossFit?
…. Wait for it ….
BECAUSE THEY’LL TELL YA!! that’s how’ 😉
It is a rapidly growing trend in fitness that has sparked much controversy
Crossfitters call it a sport, the sport of being fit!
You push yourself to the limit using various methods of exercise.
Those for the opposition say that the programming is irresponsible and that
pushing yourself to the limit in complex lifts such as the snatch is extremely dangerous!
My opinion is each to their own,
For someone who has spent much of his life running at full speed into groups of men
who’s sole intention is to crush me…#bosh!
Calling Crossfit dangerous is laughable!!
So you can forget that one.
(there has however been a very unfortunate and sad case of a Crossfitter being paralysed recently
and from the little truth and fact we can decipher out of the hugely biased opinions flooding the internet
I don’t believe that CrossFit is to blame for this)
The case against CrossFit is quite simply that it isn’t for everybody
Just as many people won’t play rugby, many people won’t be suited to CrossFit!
When deciding which exercise path to take you have to think of the desired end product or indeed the journey,
Is weight loss/fatloss your goal?
Seeing how far your body will go?
You’ve got to choose the right hammer for the right nail!
What Crossfit isn’t:
A weight loss tool – would be like using a mallet to hit a pin,
A bodybuilding tool – would be like whacking a nail with the butt of a screwdriver,
What CrossFit is:
It is a community of like minded people who enjoy a good beasting
(I have muchos respect for that btw)
It is a blast and the sense of achievement after every workout is huge
Horses for courses and all that brother…
When building the Tough Love Project
(I admit for a while i did consider going the CrossFit route)
I looked long and hard at the programme
It was very attractive as it is a successful model
and I admit it I do this to fund my exciting lifestyle!
I decided that affiliating myself wasn’t for me
I knew i could build something better that targeted physiques
helping more people and making me more moolah!
So, I looked at what was great about CrossFit
ie the community, the sense of group success and achievement
then added the fat loss principles that i have learned from the best of the best in the industry
put in solid tried and tested programming that have been proven to work over and over again
and sprinkled it all with something extremely special!
Something you can’t get anywhere else in the uk, world or universe
I gave it an injection of personality 😉
