Did you miss me?
My apologies, I’ve been busy getting married!
It truly was a fantastic day that Rachel and I enjoyed from beginning to end
We had so much fun with family and friends and are living on cloud 9!
If you didn’t already know Rachel and I are high school sweethearts
She was Cha Cha DeGregorio The Best Dancer @ St. Bernadette’s
And I was Kenickie the owner and singer of Grease Lightning!
We have 3 kids with the fourth on route, arriving in Jan – hopefully sooner J
Anyways, since the wedding, as well as trying to have some sort of home based honeymoon,
I’ve been uber busy working on some behind the scenes ‘stuff’!
So much so that I’ve neglected my own training and food, poor me eh?
Then cometh the demands of Christmas shopping, partying, eating, drinking…
It would be much easier to sack off training all together till January, wouldn’t it chico?
I could eat chocolate with mince pies and wash it down with vino every night, sounds great right?
Well it would be until I realise the damage I have done come Jan
Bet you guys are feeling the same about now…
I see this every year!
Gradually fewer and fewer people in the gym as they try to impersonate Santa by being merry and expanding their bellies
Then before we know it Black Fitness Friday hits (closest Friday to December 20th)
Where all things health related stop until January 6th!!
So, today I thought I’d give ya a little wake up call to help you put this into perspective!
Christmas is effectively 5-6 weeks of shoveling crap into your pie whole with the thought of
‘It’s OK in January I will fix it all’
I’ve got news for you – 95% of you won’t!
Over and above you are doubling the damage by cutting out all training and increasing the pie munching.
Now don’t get me wrong Mike and Me will be partying hard and often through Christmas because we like FUN!
BUT we have already planned our training sessions all the way through Christmas and to the end of Jan
You should do the same!
Put a realistic training plan in place!
Make it one you can stick to so that you don’t have an uphill battle come January
That’s enough from me I’m off to hit my morning mobiliser 10 sets of 10 overhead squats
Send me through your Christmas training plan so that you have a sense of accountability to someone
As a Christmas gift I will even critique it for you 😉
Paul ‘aka Kenickie’ Love
Ps Hopefully you will allow me this small opportunity to brag, but I’ve been told by umpteen guests at our wedding that it was the best groom speech they’d ever heard which I’m sure you can imagine makes me extremely happy. You can check it out here
